Small, Private College Turns to JBellavance to Increase Enrollment

Despite a strong academic profile and reputation for career-oriented programs the college was struggling to maintain its enrollments in a competitive market.

The Challenge

In a five-year period this small, New England college watched FTFT enrollment drop from 600 students each fall to 440 in 2021. With a desire to regain prominence in the marketplace they turned to JBellavance Consulting.

The JBellavance Solution

At JBellavance Consulting we developed a two-step process to better understand the institution’s market and reach parents of prospective students. Using the college’s enrollment data we built a customized predictive model to understand consumer behavior in student households. With this knowledge in hand, we then identified their parents, secured parent email addresses utilizing our national database and created an email campaign to reach parents directly.

The Results – one year later, after a series of parent email campaigns the institution saw a YOY application increase of 27.5% and enrolled over 100 additional new students. A review of applications showed JBellavance Consulting’s parent outreach had a direct link to 35% of applications received for Fall 2022.
